Oxfordshire is another landlocked county, it is bordered by Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. It is well known throughout England for having one of the best universities in the world, but of course there is much more in Oxfordshire other than students and idyllic “dreaming spires” buildings.
The main towns other than the world famous Oxford city include Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington and Chipping Norton to the north of Oxford. Carterton and Witney to the west. Thame and Chinnor to the east and Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford and Henley-on-Thames to the south. These are linked via some of the best agricultural farmland in England, full of copses, larger woodlands, Rivers such as the mighty Thames and the Oxford Canal all providing ideal wildlife habitats.
If you are planning a barn conversion, new house or new build it is likely that you will need to have an ecology or bat survey for your project. Getting these surveys done early will give you time to deal with any issues that may arise and likely save you time and money at a later date.
